Solar electricity PV (Photovoltaic) systems

Solar electricity harvesting - Generating and storing solar electricity is where energy is captured from the sun and then used to power lights, appliances, pumps, and other electrical items. These storage compartments are usually through inverters and batteries.

Depending on your specific need and budget, there are different options available regarding Photovoltaic systems, also referred to as solar power supply systems. There are options to go off the grid, where you are entirely non-dependent on any public electrical network and fully self-sustainable. Go for the on-grid option, which doesn't have a backup battery system. However, you will still be linked to the public network, and will this option feed into this network to lower your public network usage or go for a hybrid type of system which will partially take you off the grid by using the backup energy or power stored in the battery component during times when you are disconnected from the public network. To understand the differences and what options will fit your lifestyle best, you may consult with our solar project or installation contractor.

On the grid systems (grid-tied)

A grid-tied system does not have a backup battery system and will still require you to be connected to the public electricity supply network. Therefore, the monthly savings for this option are not as much as one of the other options but will still positively impact your budget.

Off the grid systems

These systems will entirely take you off the grid, and you will not need to be linked to any other power supply network. These systems provide enough energy to make you fully self-sustainable, and will you produce power or energy feeding all-electric and electronic household or business appliances. This option will also enable you to provide your own hot water, all by using what mother nature provides, the sun's radiation.

Off the grid systems are the ones that will save you most and should be seen as an investment option for the future. Once fully paid off, if financed, you will be financially free when paying for electricity. Imagine what you can do with that financial injection over a 15 to 20 year period of not having to pay for electricity each month.

Hybrid systems (partially off the grid)

This type of system has a backup battery storage system, enabling you to use energy stored in the form of electricity during instances where the public power supply network is not providing you with electricity at that time. A hybrid is a backup system to provide you with power during power outages but will still require you to be linked to the public power supply network
